​Beswick Urban Growers Community Garden (BUG) is a community food garden, created in collaboration with The East Manchester Academy in 2021. We’ve been running intervention, enrichment, SEN, after school club and summer holiday activities since 2021 and our dedicated gardener Steve has been on board since we were granted green space funding in 2023. Since then volunteers and school students have used growing to help improve their wellbeing, green skills and access to nature.

Together, we’re using market gardening to fight back against the problems living in one of Britain’s most deprived areas.
