Over the last 7 years we have CREATED over 30 bespoke green spaces.

MUD have developed a skilled team of designers, artists, gardeners, horticulturalists, project managers and community growing experts that have brought these projects to life.

We specialise in community focused food growing and our designs are always regenerative, use circular systems, create habitats and use plants that often have multiple uses.

We have been identified by GMCVO as an example of best practice for an inclusive economy and mentioned by MP Afzal Khan in the House of Commons highlighting our repurposing of green space.

In 2022, we won the RHS Britain In Bloom’s discretionary ‘Pride of Manchester’ award in recognition of Platt Fields Market Garden and our community work in Manchester; we also won the silver-Gilt Medal at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park 2022. Our display at RHS Tatton Flower Show 2023 was also featured on BBC’s Gardener’s World Special.

We were awarded the 2022 & 23 It’s Your Neighbourhood Award (Level 5, outstanding) by RHS and North West in Bloom. In 2024 we were featured on the television programme Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club, and profiled in the Telegraph.

Our Director team has over 30 years combined experience working in the food, hospitality and community sectors. We can consult on the design and creation of community led food growing spaces, social enterprise development and local food systems change. We have worked on local, national and international projects including NHS England's Nature For Health, Nature Neighbourhoods, The Kitchen Farming Project and the EU Foodwave programme.
We have delivered talks and lectures for The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, The Prince's Trust, Institute of Place Management, Salford CVS, The People's Plan for Nature Conference, We Invented The Weekend Festival, The Interflora Cup and The LWA's Landskills Fair.
We have a talented team of designers with backgrounds in garden design, permaculture, graphic design, illustration, systems design and horticulture. We have a strong track record of designing award winning gardens for the public and private sector.
We have built and maintained over 30 growing projects across Greater Manchester since 2019. These have ranged from raised beds for local GP surgeries, edible butterfly gardens and children's nature play areas to kitchen gardens for restaurants and a one acre commercial market garden.
We have experience constructing domestic and commercial polytunnels, greenhouses and sheds as well as a range of horticultural related groundworks and structures such as no-dig beds, pathways, pergolas, wildlife ponds and more.
